Welcome to the new People Connection site! Don't see what you're looking for? A bit confused by the new look? We're here to shed some light on the subject. People Connection brings everything together. Boards, featured blogs, chats, hot topics and fun products are highlighted to help you express, connect and share.

The message boards tab at the top of the page guides you to your favorite message boards -- old and new. Just choose a topic and run with it!

Blogs are easy to find, browse through and create. We keep you updated with the most commented on and most recently updated blogs, so it's easy to discover people and points of view.

Hi, folks. Our Mac team has been working on a not-so-secret project to redesign the flagship AOL software application for Mac. They have a new blog titled Mac@AOL Blog. Also, I had the chance to chat with the product lead for AOL's Mac products.

The blog has just launched to serve as an open forum to discuss topics in the Mac and AOL world. The blog, led by Lee Givens Jr., intends to use the blog to collect feedback from users and to talk about other industry news. He also openly invites the internal Mac team to contribute -- that means from designers, project mangers, to even QA testers.

The Mac team has several applications for Mac users to enjoy, all for free. You can check them out at AOL Downloads. If you have a .Mac or an AIM screen name, you can enjoy AOL Radio, AOL Pictures and AOL Service Assistant just by using your existing screen name.

He shared some details with me about the next version of AOL for the Mac in the following IM conversation:

Joseph V Manna: So, can you tell me more about what the Mac@AOL Blog, such as who your audience is?

Hey, folks. We always like to do good things, and AIM for Good is a new blog that's focused on charity and other good causes. The "for good" part is also a spin-off of the partnership AOL has with Network For Good.


On the left side of the blog, AIM for Good makes it very easy to donate or volunteer to valuable causes. You will be able to check out featured Six Degrees celebrities, and navigate to categories on the blog. There are also message boards to meet with other buddies interested in charitable discussion. If you run a charity, feel free to drop on by and let folks know about your cause. Like most blogs, there's also a blogroll linking to additional charitable blogs.

In addition, a featured Six Degrees celebrity will be shown on the left side. (If you recall, you can make your AIM Page all tricked out with a Six Degrees module so you can help charities in need.)

We've rounded up a team of seven or so bloggers to participate. One thing I can tell you, is that if you get seven bloggers together in one place -- there's bound to be a lot of coverage! They will be covering a variety of topics such as Animal Welfare, Human Rights, Natural Disasters and more.

Over on the right side of the blog, there's a list of upcoming events; which has a listing of some popular charitable events happening locally across the country. You'll also find a listing of featured charities that we find especially great for people check out. AIM Expressions are also available for you to show off to your buddies.
